CR84FN #17

For my JUGS post, please click HERE :)

Look at the gorgeous colors over at CR84FN this week!!!

These colors are so spring-y and cheery that it made me think of flowers - I 'm sure I'm not alone :) I felt like coloring so I whipped out the gladiolus from the PTI Year of Flowers series.

I masked off the edges of the card and stamped the gladiolus inside. Then I masked the center of the card and stamped background text. After coloring the gladiolus with Copics (RV10, RV13, RV14; YG11, YG13, YG17), I stitched around the border with my handy, dandy sewing machine. Add a strip of Hibiscus burst and top with a stamped vellum strip...done :) I was so happy with how this turned out. I think I'll do this again :)

Hop on over to visit the other fabulous CR84FN DT - their links are on my sidebar :) Remember to also visit the sweet and talented Stella Schenkel, our guest DT for the month of February! This is Stella's last week with us :( Thank you for joining us Stella and sharing your gorgeous, inspiring creations!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JUGS #73 - Envelope Gift Box

How about a cool challenge from Just Us Girls

Our fabulous hostess, Pam, has chosen to challenge us with these cute little boxes. They are PeRfEcT for giving cards with lots of embellies or a small set of cards (that's what I plan to use mine for :)). There's a great, easy-to-follow tutorial HERE on Splitcoast Stampers if you're a newbie, like me.

I used the fabulous colors from the latest Play Date Cafe challenge for inspiration.

Have you ever sat down to make a project and things just come together so quickly and perfectly? Sadly, that was not the case for me tonight. I had an idea and I just couldn't make it come to fruition so I switched gears....again....and again.... I won't tell you exactly how long it took me to put this together but let's just say it's wasn't the most productive, efficient time ever :) My original idea was to make this box then put set of matching cards in it but my time dwindled so I'll have to finish that project on another day.

Here's a close up of my tag - I put a tiny aqua crocheted flower next to the sentiment. I really am addicted to crocheting these little cuties!
That's it for me :) Swing by and say hi to our talented guest designer for February, Lori from Afternoon's Delight. Also take a moment to swing by the blogs of the rest of the always wonderful JUGS DT! Their links are in my sidebar to the right :)

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

February Papertrey Blog Hop: Scallops

Time for the Papertrey Blog Hop! This month's challenge is to use scallops in creative ways. I'm so excited that I actually got time to play along this month- YAY!

I chose to make a scallop frame (and I used scallops on the end of my card :)). I needed some serious color inspiration and I found a great challenge - Totally Hues from the super talented Heather P.

Aren't the colors so fabulous?!?!

I've been really into windows/negative die cuts lately. They're just such a darn cool design element!!! Pair it with awesome raspberry fizz felt...*drool* I used some of my fantastic new PTI goodies! I stamped the new Bitty Background Blocks (the In Bloom block) in aqua mist. So many more goodies....so little time! Hopefully I'll get more crafty time this weekend :)

Here's wishing you a weekend filled with crafty time ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

DeNami Product Spotlight: Lucky Irish

For my DeNami Color Challenge post, click HERE.

Today in the DeNami Product Spotlight we've got a sweet Petit Fours with an Irish theme!!!

For this first card, I stamped and clear embossed the clovers on green cardstock. My uber talented friend, Aimes, had THIS beautiful card on her site which provided the inspiration for the layout. The white cardstock is die cut, dry embossed then propped up on dimensionals. The cute little hat and the sentiment "lucky" were embossed in white on vellum. I used a green Copic marker to highlight the periphery of the hat and sentiment on the vellum - it's a bit hard to see in the pic though.

I paired the Lucky Irish Petit Fours with the medium Polka Dot background stamp.  I edged the polka dots with bakers twine from the twinery.

Thanks so much for taking the time to swing by and visit! I sure do appreciate it!!! Head over to the DeNami blog to see more projects from the uber talented DeNami DT as well as our February guest DT,  Kim Wilson!!! Leave 'em some love!!!

Happy Monday Bleeps! We've got another challenge over at the DeNami Blog - Lisa has picked out a fabulous, fun color palate to tempt you :)

With such a fun selection of colors, I decided to make a fun birthday card :)

I pulled out the fantastic Daisy Background and small Happy Birthday. I stamped the daisy background in dark blue - the great thing about this stamp is that it practically covers the entire card front in one fell swoop :)  I stamped the sentiment on vellum and added a few buttons and twine. Easy peasy :) I used Lime cardstock for the base - it's textured and super great!

Make sure to swing by the DeNami Blog to see the other fabulous DT creations and for the deets regarding the Color Challenge! Can't wait to see what you guys whip up with this awesome color combo!!!

CR84FN #16

For my JUGS post, please click HERE :)

Look at the gorgeous colors over at CR84FN this week!!! YUM-MY!!! Aren't those inspiration photos simply fabulous?!?!

I only had dark and very light grey so I went with the lighter shade in my card.

It's hard to see from the pics but I also stamped and clear embossed text onto the soft stone background. I couldn't get the picture to highlight it... I'm missing my trusty Canon rebel. I left it at a friends house a month ago (in my defense, the friend does live an hour and 45 minutes away :)) and I've been using a little point and shoot. It does a pretty good job but, boy, can I ever tell a difference! The  background is stamped (guide lines II from PTI) on a soft pink cardstock. I stitched around the edge with dark grey thread at least :)

Hop on over to visit the other fabulous CR84FN DT - their links are on my sidebar :) Remember to also visit the sweet and talented Stella Schenkel, our guest DT for the month of February!

Beautiful Buttons - DeNami Blog Hop

For my CR84FN post, please click HERE :)
For my JUGS post, please click HERE :)

Welcome friends! It's DeNami Blog Hop time!!!

Let's see what you can do with buttons!!! I'm looking forward to all the fun, inspiring projects! So let's get hopping :)

Welcome to your first stop on the Hop (wow, now I'm rhyming LOL!).  Up first, I've got a pretty CAS card that uses loads of glorious buttons!

I stamped one side with the medium polka dots background from DeNami and clear embossed. Then I added a cascade of buttons in various shades of pink and white/cream. The sentiment is DeNami's small happy birthday stamp, which is heat embossed in white. This card also uses colors from the latest ColourQ challenge :)

I wanted to make a fun card using DeNami's fish bowl and CUTE little goldfish from the sea friends stamp set. Also used on this card are the treasure chest and bubbles from the under the sea stamp set and the sentiment stamp HERE.  I colored the fish bowl and items within with my Copic markers *happy sigh*.

The variably sized buttons are poking out from under the fish bowl. For the treasure in the chest, I used gold microbeads. Here's a close up to see them better...

Your next stop is my fellow DeNami DT member, the lovely and talented, Wendy Elliot. Don't forget, if at any time you want to see a complete list of blog hop participants or loose track of the hop order, you can always jump back to the DeNami Blog :)

Don't forget, there are prizes for participants in the blog hop! THREE lucky people will win a $20 gift certificate to DeNami Design; ONE gift certificate for a random participant (DT members not eligible) and TWO gift certificates to TWO people who comment along the hop!!!!!

Remember the Extra Challenge too - We know that many people love buttons, so we thought we'd bring an additional opportunity for you to post your beautiful button creations (outside of your blog hop project). We will have a link widget on the blog hop post where you can upload additional button creation(s). We'll choose one winner to be guaranteed a spot in the next blog hop AND they'll get to choose a few stamps of their choice! Great, right?!

Happy hopping Bleeps!!!!
